Ric Baker

Partner, Adviser

Commencing his career over a decade ago with a major bank in customer service allowed Ric to gain valuable insight into the world of finance providing him the opportunity to develop much knowledge and expertise of Australian banking practices. With a desire to develop deeper client relationships, Ric completed a Diploma in Financial Planning before accepting an Advisory role in 2009 focusing primarily on wealth protection advice.

Wanting to further his skill set Ric then completed his Mortgage Broking studies obtaining valuable knowledge of lending solutions and strategies. Honing his expertise as a Credit Adviser, Ric has brought his broad knowledge base and experience to assist clients with all of their borrowing needs, from homes and investment properties, to boats, cars and equipment finance.

Ric now specialises in both credit and risk insurance advice, disciplines that are often intertwined. No longer constrained by working for a bank, his product and service offerings have the flexibility and range that you would expect of a private practice such as Stonehouse. Ric’s passion is obvious from the first meeting and his willingness to find the right solutions for his clients remains paramount.

Ric holds a Diploma of Financial Planning as well as a Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management. His industry memberships include being an approved Credit Adviser™ of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), an Associate Financial Planner (AFP) of the esteemed Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) and a Practitioner Member of the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA).

Away from work, Ric loves spending time with his wife Lara Baker (nee Stewart) and daughter Madison. When not with them, he can be found on his bike with involvement in the sport extending to running a social cycling club plus co-managing and racing in an elite cycling team (sponsored by Stonehouse).

Ric is available for appointments at all Stonehouse offices.
